Why journalists visit websites

So you have a corporate or association web (or better yet a blog) site. What are the five top reasons a journalist might have a look?

This from this morning’s Management page in The Globe and Mail:

  1. Located a P.R. contact;
  2. Find basic facts (like how the president spells his or her name;
  3. Figure out the company’s spin on events;
  4. Check financial info;
  5. Download images for use in stories.

So does your site include this information? It should.
